"The COHORT has been my all time favorite California board... really versatile in all conditions and VERY functional" - Micky Clarke.
Micky Clarke needs no introduction, though to do him the slightest of justices we're gonna light him up here. And, since some in the Southern Hemisphere may not be too familiar with Micky just yet - thats all about to change.
An earnest and humble powerhouse from Ventura County, California; his style is fast, loose and raw. Yet these terms are merely a string of cliches for a guy that rapidly transitions from calm to beast mode every time he paddles out.

Its no secret something has been brewing in the water within those Central Coast stomping grounds for years to consistently produce batches of highly energized, explosive surfers... and as part of the new gen; Micky is retaining that faith by keeping up appearances and clocking footage like its nobody's business. Luckily for him - and the rest of us digital voyeurs - he doesn't need to stray too far from home during a pandemic to find decent waves.
Between jaunts to Mexico filming for the new 'Blud Brothers 2' release or commuting up and down the PCH - he's on a search and destroy mission collecting a barrage of content right now.

With this, comes the eminent questions from shoulder spectators time-and-time again as to what boards he's riding and which dimensions he prefers. To sum it up: "The COHORT has been my all time favorite California board... really versatile in all conditions and VERY functional" - Micky
Prior to releasing the COHORT__I Hayden worked with both he and Ando to test and tune the model, refining the board to both surfers styles finding a harmony of consistent speed, flow, control and power for varying conditions.
Between the technologies offered in the COHORT__I builds; Micky's preferences lean towards both the FutureFlex (black board) and the PE ie. Polyurethane Epoxy Lamination construction (white board) and if his recent clips are anything to go by, its clearly evident they're working for him.

Whilst both use the exact same outline template, the COHORT__I in FutureFlex offers a difference in board feel with a flex-pattern which seriously increases drive and speed, igniting an overall liveliness underfoot. The PE construction uses the traditional shortboard method of polyurethane foam, yet is bumped up a notch with the superiority of the epoxy resin not only brightening the whites, but also increasing the strength to maintain the liveliness during the life of the board, compared to standard polyester resin.

Having just celebrated his 22nd birthday, coincided with a dedicated CH11 TV episode for the big guy. And damn, what better way to celebrate!
If you havent already watched 'Episode 006 / 18 Pack' relish in the clip at the top of the page. We trust it'll make you want to go and annihilate some water.
