Each of these 3rd party reviews are subjective, highly qualified, non-bias and honest – the best kind there is. There’s glow and there’s brutality. There’s good waves, averages waves and shitty waves… What’s life without diversity? Feedback is valuable, good and bad. We’ll say one thing. For a pretty typical shortboard, evidently, the Darkside ain’t boring…

Here’s a short timeline of this model…

This shape was first revealed as an off the cuff creation for Dane (assuming he was the test pilot) ridden and reviewed by him in 2-4ft Durban beach breaks for Stab in the Dark last year. Then a few months later, Hayden shaped a second for Taj in FutureFlex which he rode in 2-4ft on shore waves for a Surfing Life Magazine tech test in West Oz. From here, our team jumped on it and connected with it, so we decided to release a very limited run in selected retailers and get it out there for those who wanted it. It was at this point we gave it a name.

More recently, we scaled up this same shape from the previous year for it to be reviewed again for Stab In The Dark, by Jordy (we picked it accurately). He rode it in a 2ft cross shore right hander in Indonesia – and it’s our most colourful review yet but of worthy opinion.

Slightly retracing our steps… A few months back and after being approached for yet another review, Hayden shaped a Darkside in both PE and FutureFlex. This time it was Noel Salas of the board review channel Surf N Show who took it out in 2-3 ft everyday Lowers, California. The obviously lesser known of the surfers/reviewers to date, for those unaware, Noel is your everyday local shredder with a good understanding and appreciation for a surfboard.

So, here they are in newest to oldest running order. Enjoy them all.. We laughed and we cried.

P.S keep them coming. Who has this board? Share your feedback with us.
