SITD FINALE RECAP

What a series, what a night! Starting HS as a 15 year old grom and only ever knowing surfboards as a job and career I’ve seen so many highs and lows, weathered many storms over the past 30 years… I haven’t always gotten it right every time but I’ve never lost the passion in always trying to improve my craft and take the feedback back to the shaping bay.

Watching the level of surfing that Ethan delivered on the DarkNoiz - 6’1” x 19 1/8” x 2 5/8” - 31.4L - in this year’s Stab in the Dark is truly what my grom dreams were made of starting out all those years back! Holy shit. The best to do it. I think winning only fully registered watching that last episode with everyone in Oceanside and witnessing the surfing with my own eyes!

Thank you Sam Mcintosh for the opportunity and the entire Stab crew for putting together the best series to date - it was the one to win!!! As Stab put it, Haydenshapes was the dark horse going in. I still have many goals I want to achieve yet and I’m truly just stoked to still be making boards 3 decades on.

Absolutely stoked to share the stage in the last round with Dan Mann, JS, DHD, CI (Brit you enjoyed that beer pour at the final a little too much haha) you guys are fucking hero’s - stoked to be in the heat with the you all! Super grateful to my team & surfers, all my customers and retailers & distributors that continue to support us and back what we do! What a highlight moment.
